Trochalo Villas is a compact complex of seven private villas, set in mature gardens, and is located on the hillside behind the beautiful seaside village of Stoupa on the Mani peninsula in the Peloponnese region of Greece. Set in a quiet area they provide peace, tranquility and privacy for guests as well as stunning views over the olive groves, Stoupa village and the Gulf of Messinia. Built in a traditional style using local stone, great care has been taken to provide a setting that compliments and blends with the landscape. Each villa is set in its own private garden complete with swimming pool with all verandas providing westerly facing seaviews.
It is with mixed feelings that I write this piece. When you find somewhere that suits you and your family so perfectly it is a basic human instinct to keep it secret and protect the information safe in the knowledge that you can keep going back.
It is because, I think, of Paul and Susan’s massive attention to detail and quiet diligence that I feel it needs recognition. I will skip over the brilliant views, simple and well-designed villas (we have stayed in two and looked around another), plus the lovely easy charm of the local people and just say that the way that the villas are maintained and the subtle but excellent services and advice that Paul and Susan offer make it very special.
Our two children are immediately at home in the villas and a lovely blend of modern amenities, sunshine and local wildlife means that even a mildly cynical tech-based teenager becomes excellent company after 48 hours.
Our hosts are always watchful in order to maintain standards with a relentless focus on making one feel at home.
Anyway, I have blown it now, the secret’s out- good job we’ve secured our booking for next year!
